Making beats with Propellerhead Figure iOS app while watching a Hammer Dracula Film…

Couple of days ago, I’ve received my Propellerhead Balance. After some tests, I can say it sounds really great and preamps are very VERY good!

The front input selector buttons are very easy to use. You can have multiple input sources permanently connected, and then choose which you record with the input buttons. Love the feeling, It’s like using an old school hi-fi amplifier!

Clip-safe is also a great feature, a back-up against clipping distortion. When it’s enabled, sections of audio clips that have clipped are shown by red areas. All is not lost — just click the clip’s ‘CS’ button or choose the ‘Heal Clip Safe Clips’ menu item and it’s substituted with a distortion-free version. Very cool and it might become handy. It also works as an Ignition Key for Reason, so no more usb dongles.

Plus it looks fantastic!!!

Propellerhead Figure Demo track on iPhone 4

A quick track I’ve made using the amazing Propellerhead Figure on iPhone 4. Here is the result with a little bit of tweaking.
Got three minutes and want to make some music? Figure is the fun music-making app for instant inspiration. Figure highlights: Make songs with Drums, Bass and Lead Synth, Play by sliding your finger across the play pad, Always stay in key and on the beat, No previous playing skills required, Tweak and twist your track on the fly.
The sound of Reason on your phone!
Swedish firm Propellerhead Software is one of the key companies in the history of electronic music-making, having been responsible for software like ReBirth — which emulated Roland’s famous 303 synthesizer and 808 and 909 drum machines — and studio package Reason.
Now it’s making apps. Starting with an iOS version of ReBirth in May 2010, and now with an entirely new app called Figure.
Propellerhead’s Figure music app is awesome, easy to use and cheap. And since Reason is the one and only software I use for my music, I was more than happy when Figure (Powered by Reason) came out. It’s a Reason for mobile phone!
